AAI Find Adani Group Violating Branding Norms

Three committees of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) in January found that the Adani Group had been violating branding norms in the concession agreements. This is in relation to the airports in Ahmedabad, Mangaluru and Lucknow, that the group took over last year.

In December 2020, the AAI found that the brandings and displays at the 3 Airports were not in accordance with the concession agreements. Then, the AAI wrote letters to ALIAL, AMIAL and AAIAL asking them to take “corrective measures.” But the companies in late December stated that they have not violated the branding norms.

Following this, three separate committees were formed to carry out “joint survey” of all hoardings and displays at these Airports.

As per clause 5.15.2 of the concession agreements, the Airports will be known, promoted, displayed, advertised and branded by their name only, but the committee has found that hoardings at the Airport entrance and exit roads of Lucknow International Airport has also got Adani Airports written on it.
