Delhi Records Coldest November Morning In 17 Years As Cold Wave Intensifies

As winter sets in, mercury took a deep dive in most areas of North India on Sunday. While Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of minus 3 degrees Celsius, some parts of Delhi on Sunday recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degrees Celsius, the lowest in November since 2003.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in the national capital was recorded at 7.5 degrees Celsius on Friday, which was the lowest in the month of November in the last 14 years. While temperature drops in Delhi, the number of coronavirus-infected patients is also increasing.

Kuldeep Srivastava, head of IMD’s regional forecast centre, said, “The Safdarjung observatory recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9 degrees Celsius. This is the lowest temperature recorded in this month in Delhi since November 2003.” He said that the minimum temperature at Palam Meteorological Center fell to 6.1 degrees Celsius.
