California Wildfire Season Set To Break Worst Record Of 2020, Climate Change Blamed Again

President Joe Biden of the United States said that the latest California wildfires that have ravaged the state “are being supercharged by climate change”. Earlier, while surveying the damage caused by Hurricane Ida in Idaho, he had said that “It’s a reality. It’s serious. And we can do this. We can do this. And in the process of building back, we can create jobs.”

In 2021, California wildfires have caused one death and burned around 2 million acres. These wildfires are exacerbated by the highest temperatures on record on the US West Coast, which have been put down to climate change.

While touring New York after the damage of Hurricane Ida, President Biden had said:

“Folks, the evidence is clear: climate change poses an existential threat to our lives, to our economy… And the threat is here; it’s not going to get any better. The question: can it get worse? We can stop it from getting worse.”
