COVID-19: India Tally Exceeds 5.9 Million, Ahead Of US In New Cases And Deaths Per Day

The total Coronavirus infection cases have crossed 59 lakh mark in the country after 85,362 new cases surface in the last 24 hours, in addition to 1,089 fatalities. Whereas, more than 93,000 thousand patients have died due to COVID-19 in the country so far.

India is one of the few countries in the world where cases of infection are increasing rapidly. In the United States, for example, there are 72.44 lakh cases of infections and an average of 45,000 new cases are surfacing every day. Whereas in India, the average cases coming up per day is 80,000.

However, India is ahead of the US in terms of death per day. While the average death per day of infected patients in India is 1000–1200, it is between 800–1000 in the US.
