COVID-19 Spook: Delhi Imposes Weekend, Night Curfews, Curbs Office Attendance

After the meeting held by the DDMA (Delhi Disaster Management Authority) today, it was decided that weekend and night curfew will be imposed in Delhi from today onwards, and that government offices will be on work from home mode except for those involved in essential services. For private companies, office attendance will be capped at 50%.

Over the past 8 to 10 days, the total positive cases in Delhi are around 11,000. This includes Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal as well, who had until recently been attending various public meetings in poll-bound Utarakhand and Punjab and in Delhi as well. Of these, 350 patients are in hospital, and even in these, only 124 patients are on oxygen support. Seven people are on ventilator. Experts say that the behaviour of Omicron variant at until now is that people display mild symptoms and are recovering quickly. And yet, if people are getting infected that means that there is indeed a risk”

Sisodia further said In his statement that in view of the rising case count In Delhi, the government intends that the virus should not spread further, and wants to “control is as far as possible and low down its pace of spread to manage to properly”.Public transport services such as metro and buses will operate at full capacity as well.
