Delhi: RML Hospital Resident Staff Refuses Covaxin Shot, Asks For Covishield

Amid celebrations of the launch of the world's largest vaccination drive in India, questions are also being raised over the efficacy of the vaccines. The recent case is of Ram Manohar Lohia hospital in Delhi. RML's resident doctors have refused to be vaccinated with Bharat Biotech's Covaxin. RDA members of the hospital have alleged that Bharat Biotech's Covaxin is being given more priority than the Serum Institute's Covishield for vaccination of doctors.

It was said by RDA that questions are being raised on the vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech. They alleged that Covaxin has not completed the trial process before obtaining emergency approval while Covishield of Serum Institute has met all the criteria.

The RDA requested the administration to give Covishield shots to the hospital staff. If this is not done then a large number of staff will not get vaccinated and the target of vaccination will not be met.
