In a big relief to the denizens of Delhi, the national capital's weekend curfew has been lifted, as have restrictions at markets and malls. Cinemas and restaurants will be allowed to reopen with a 50% capacity, while wedding guests will be limited to 200. Government offices will be operating at half-capacity. The night curfew will stay in effect, and educational institutions will remain closed.
The weekend curfew will be removed next week, while other restrictions, such as the odd-even rule, will be lifted tomorrow, according to the DDMA.
The new guidelines were imposed after a meeting of the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) to assess the city's Covid-19 situation. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, DDMA Chairman and Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, as well as other experts and officials, attended the meeting.
