The ongoing farmers' protest is drawing support among political outfits and prominent personalities. Now Punjab heavyweight politician and former Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal came out in support of farmers staging protests at the Delhi borders against new farm laws.
In a letter to President Ramnath Kovind, Mr Badal informed him about returning his Padam Vibushan award as a mark of protest against 'betrayal of farmers by Modi govt.'

Prior to this, several Padam Shri and Arjun Awardees said that they will return their awards to register their resentment against the use of force against protesting farmers to prevent them from marching to Delhi.
The famed players included wrestler Kartar Singh, Rajbir Kaur and Gurmeet Singh. All these prominent sportspersons said that they will return their awards to the President on 7th December.
