A man who was stopped during a vehicle checking drive in Surajpur, Greater Noida on suspicions of driving a stolen car with a fake number plate 'kidnapped' a constable who stopped his vehicle and drove for around 20 km. He has been arrested. It is alleged that after being stopped, the man asked the constable to sit in his car and then sped away with him after locking the doors.
The man has been idenitified as Sachin Rawal, a resident of Ghodi Bacheda village in Greater Noida.
Rawal has been booked under sections 364 (kidnapping), 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), and 368 (wrongfully concealing or keeping in confinement, kidnapped or abducted person) of the Indian Penal Code.
