In Delhi, Woman Publicly Assaulted, Paraded, 'Shamed': Culprits Include Women, Cops Nab 11

In a disturbing video released this morning, a woman is paraded by her neighbours in Delhi, her hair shaved and her face painted black. Four women have been arrested in connection with the incident.

The woman, who is married and has a child, was assaulted in Shahdara, east Delhi, because of "personal enmity," according to police.

According to a senior police official "A woman was sexually assaulted today in Shahdara District as a result of personal animosity. Four suspects have been apprehended by police, and an investigation is underway. The victim is receiving all available assistance and counselling "

#Update: A total of 11 people, including 9 women, arrested. Nine out of the 11 accused who are named in the FIR, have been arrested. Delhi Police say that more arrests will be made soon.

The Delhi Commission for Women has demanded action as well as additional arrests. Swati Maliwal, the commission's chairperson, claims that the 20-year-old was gang-raped by illegal liquor sellers.

The attack was carried out by the family of a suicidal adolescent. Because he was pursuing the woman, the boy's family blamed her for his death.

According to the victim's sister, after the boy died on November 12th, the woman, who is married and has a child, moved to a rented room.
