India Registers Strong Objection With Saudi Arabia For Showing J&K As Separate Entity On Banknote

India registered a strong objection after a "gross misrepresentation" of the country's map on a banknote issued by the Monetary Authority of Saudi Arabia issued banknotes on October 24 to commemorate the presidency of the country's G20 conference.

Ministry of External Affairs, Anurag Srivastava said that India's serious concern regarding the issue has been conveyed through Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to India and Riyadh.

The spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said Saudi Arabia has been told that the territorial boundaries of India have been shown very wrongly in this banknote, that too on the legal banknote of Saudi, they have been asked to correct it immediately. MEA reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India. However, Pakistan is also bothered by this note because Gilgit-Baltistan and PoK have not been shown as the territory of Pakistan.
