A record 3 lakh healthcare workers across the country are scheduled to get vaccinated on the first day across 3,006 vaccination sites.
Soon after PM Modi began the world's largest vaccination drive, AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria became one of the first Indians to get vaccinatied against COVID-19. He received a vaccine shot on live television soon after sanitation worker Manish Kumar who became the first to take the shot at Delhi AIIMS, in the presence of Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan.

Serum Institute of India Chief Executive Officer Adar Poonawalla also received Covishield shot.

A record 3 lakh healthcare workers across the country are scheduled to get vaccinated on the first day across 3,006 vaccination sites. The prime minister asked citizens not to ignore the second dose of the vaccine and said that 30 crore people will be inoculated by the second phase of vaccination.
