Indian Railways To Run 40 'Clone' Trains To Meet Pent-Up Demand

The Indian Railways has decided to run 40 'clone' trains on selected routes from 21 September with reservations from Sep 10, in view of the huge rush of passengers on several trains.

According to the Indian Railways, out of the 20 clone trains, 19 will be Humsafar Express, while one will be Jan Shatabdi train.

Except for Jan Shatabdi, the fare of all special clone trains will be equal to Humsafar special trains. Railways said that out of these 20 clone trains, the fare of Humsafar Express will be taken for 19 pair trains, while the those boarding clone train running between Lucknow to Delhi will have to pay at par with Jan Shatabdi Express. At the same time, passengers will have to make reservations within 10 days to travel on these trains.
