ISIS Claims Mosque Blast In Afghanistan That Leaves 32 Dead

A suicide bombing at a Shia mosque in Kandahar has left 47 dead and several injured in Afghanistan’s Kandahar. The group claimed on social media that its fighters killed the guards outside Fatimiya mosque, detonating two explosives, one outside the mosque and one inside it. The ISIS claims hat the attacks were perpetrated by two Afghan nationals, namely Anas al-Khurasani and Abu Ali al-Baluchi.

These attacks are the latest in a series of attacks on Shia places of worship in the country, and also point to the growing presence of ISIS-K in the country, which is hostile both to the Taliban regime and to the West.
