Two people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed fire broke out in a residential building on Ganesh Chandra Avenue in Kolkata. It is reported that all the people have been evacuated from the building. According to officials, a 12-year-old child and an elderly woman were among those who died.
An official of the West Bengal Police said that the child got scared and jumped from the third floor due to the fire. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The body of the elderly woman was found in the bathroom of the building. Two occupants of the building have also been injured and have been hospitalised.
