Telangana Industry & Commerce Minister K.T. Rama Rao (K.T.R) invited Tesla CEO Elon Musk for a business partnership with the state. This comes after Elon Musk tweeted a few days ago, replying to a user, that “challenges with the government” was a main reason why Tesla hadn’t set up production in India.

K.T.R. is the son of state chief minister Chandrashekar Rao and is also a minister in the state government. He said in his tweet: “Our state is a champion in sustainability initiatives & a top notch business destination in India”
On 13th January, a Twitter user had asked Musk when Tesla will launch in India, and in response, the Tesla CEO said: “Still working through a lot of challenges with the government”

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has been pushing for reduced import tariffs on the electric cars as a precondition for manufacturing them in the country. On the other hand, domestic automobile companies like Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, and Mahindra Automobiles have opposed reduction of tariffs.
