The Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced that the lockdown in the state has been extended by one more week. Now, the lockdown is set to end on July 19 at 6 am.
The ban on certain activities would continue such as inter-state private and public transport apart from the Union territory of Puducherry. Air travel will also be banned apart from the ones permitted by the Union Home Ministry.
Cinema halls, bars, swimming pools, schools, colleges and zoological parks would remain closed. All types of events where a lot of public would assemble such as social and political events would also remain banned. Shops that were allowed to open till 8 pm, can now be open till 9 pm. Restaurants can be open till 9 pm with 50 per cent capacity.

Hotels, tea shops, bakeries, roadside shops, snack shops can function with 50% of customers till 9 PM. Schools, colleges, theatres, liquor bars, swimming pools, zoos will remain closed.
