New Zealand Approves Euthanasia, Poised To Reject Recreational Marijuana Use

New Zealand's Electoral Commission on Friday said the country has temporarily voted to legalise euthanasia but is set to reject law reforms that would allow recreational marijuana use. Euthanasia or assisted suicide is a process to end the life of a person suffering from extreme pain or incurable disease.

Kiwis voted on the two referendums during a general election that brought back Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern to power.

53.1% of voters opposed to legalise the recreational use and sale of cannabis, that'd have made New Zealand the third country to legalise Marjiuana after Canada and Uruguay.
