The National Highway 707 has been temporarily closed due to a major landslide that occurred in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Due to the landslide, an entire stretch of about 100 metres long mountain-side road connecting Paonta Sahib and Shillai-Hatkoti collapsed.

While the traffic is being diverted Paonta Sahib through Kaftoa via Jakhna Jong-Killor, no loss of life has been reported yet due to the incident.

The authorities have barricaded the road and people who live in the nearby areas have been asked to be on high alert. Policemen have been posted at various entry points to warn people to take a different route.
