NTR-Jr. Starrer ‘RRR’ Loses ₹18-20 Cr. In Promotions As Film Release Delayed

The film ‘RRR’ which was being considered as a major project for director Rajmouli and actors N.T Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan has met with a sudden pandemic speed breaker that has put its plans on hold and left the producers staring at a loss of ₹18-20 crore due to promotional events  aimed at the January 7th release date, which will not give any return to the producers and promoters of the film. With the rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the country, it is likely that cinema halls will be asked to close again soon.

The promotional budget and spending was high because fans had to be flown in and put up in luxury hospitality venues for marketing events outside Andhra Pradesh, the main fan base of the film’s two lead actors. This increased the cost of promotion and now that the film will probably miss its scheduled release date, it has turned into a loss.

Media outlets and web portals have reported that the acting leads in the film feel disappointed and eve “depressed” because the build up to the dream release of D.V.V Entertainments-produced film with a production budget of ₹400 crore was deflated so quickly and suddenly. There has been no social media communication by the actors or dorector with fans about this recent turn in events as yet.
