Pusa Agriculture Institute's 'Bio Decomposer Technique' Will Curb Stubble Burning, If Utilised: Delhi CM

Delhi's Pusa Agriculture Institute might have the solution to a menacing problem i.e. stubble burning, a major factor for poor air quality in Delhi and neighbouring states. On Thursday, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal visited the institute to inspect the Bio Decomposer Technique, built by the institute, that decomposes crop stubble into manure.

"This technique helps in turning crop stubble into manure. If utilised, it'll enrich soil quality & will curb problem of stubble burning," CM Kejriwal said.

Apart from severely harming Indians' health, air pollution from India’s stubble burning leads to an estimated $1.5 billion economic losses over five years, according to a 2019 study by the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) researchers.
