Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, on his way to meet the family members of the Hathras gang-rape victim, has been taken into custody by the UP Police. The UP police stopped him on the Yamuna Expressway. Police say they are being held for violating the rules.

The Hathras gang-rape victim died at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi on Tuesday. Later, the UP police performed a 'forceful cremation' without handing over the body to the family.
The opposition alleges that the Yogi government has tried to erase the evidence of the incident. Moreover. in the last 24 hours, rape cases have been reported in Azamgarh, Bulandshahar and Fatehpur. At the same time, in Balrampur district, an incident like Hathras gangrape has surfaced.
