After keeping his fans and supporters guessing on his entry into politics, noted Actor Rajnikanth on Thursday announced that he will launch his party in January 2021 and an official announcement will be made on December 31.
Rajnikanth announcement of taking political plunge comes months after his contemporary Kamal Hassan decided to walk into the political arena.
In a statement issued on Twitter, Rajnikanth said he will fight the upcoming Tamil Nadu Assembly polls, adding that 'honest, righteous, transparent, corruption-free, casteless, secular and spiritual politics will be formed in the state for sure".
Rajnikanth in March 2020 had said that he will not be the Chief Ministerial face of the party. However, his entry will certainly upset the political equations of the southern state, where a vacuum was created following the demise of J. Jayalalitha, former Chief Minister and BJP is trying to make inroads.
