Russia Claims To Have Developed First COVID-19 Vaccine, Putin's Daughter Given A Dose

Russia on Tuesday became the first country to officially register a COVID-19 vaccine and declare it ready for use, said President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday. He also disclosed that his daughter has been given a dose.

Russia’s health ministry has given regulatory approval for what it claims is the world’s first Covid-19 vaccine, developed by Moscow’s Gamaleya Institute, after less than two months of human testing.

“I would like to repeat that it has passed all the necessary tests,” he said. “The most important thing is to ensure full safety of using the vaccine and its efficiency.”
