Maruti Suzuki Cars To Get Expensive From January 2
The country’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki India on Tuesday announced that it will increase prices across various models from January 2020 to offset rising input costs. Following the news, its share price gained 1.3% intraday on December 3.

In a statement to stock exchanges, the company noted the rising input costs over the past year have affected its vehicles, leading it to the decision to announce a price hike from next month.

However, the company hasn't yet revealed information about the quantum of the impending increase in prices.

The move comes after Maruti Suzuki announced a significant milestone: It has sold 20 million passenger vehicles in India since it first started operations here in 1983.

While the company reached the milestone of 10 million vehicles in 29 years, the next 10 million cars were sold in eight years.
