Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked For Fifth Consecutive
Oil companies have increased prices of petrol and diesel by 60 paise per litre for the fifth consecutive day. After the new prices, one litre petrol in Delhi will cost Rs 74 while one litre diesel will be sold at Rs 72.22. Whereas on June 6, five days ago, the price of petrol was Rs 71.26 in Delhi and diesel was Rs 69.39.

In Kolkata, the price of petrol is Rs 75.94 and the price of diesel is Rs 68.17 per litre. One litre of petrol in Chennai is being sold for Rs 77.96 and diesel for Rs 70.64. Similarly, petrol in Mumbai is being sold at Rs 80.98 per litre and diesel at Rs 70.92 per litre.

There was no change in the prices of petrol and diesel for six weeks, but now the oil companies have started the process of daily changes in the price of petrol and diesel. The reason for this is the ongoing turmoil in the international market vis-a-vis crude oil prices. There is a possibility that the price of petrol and diesel may increase further.
