Youtube Earned $15 Billion From Ads In 2019
Google made a staggering $15 billion from YouTube ads in 2019, the company revealed. That’s about nine percent of Alphabet’s total revenue and doesn't include other sources of revenue from the video platform, including subscriptions.

The California-based company unveiled YouTube’s ads revenue for the first time in 14 years after buying it for $1.65 billion in 2006.

In comparison to Google’s overall ad revenue, including its search ads business, which grew by 16% year-over-year in 2019, YouTube’s ad revenue grew at 36% in the same year.

“I’m really pleased with our continued progress in Search and in building two of our newer growth areas — YouTube, already at $15 billion in annual ad revenue, and Cloud, which is now on a $10 billion revenue run rate." said Sundar Pichai, CEO of Alphabet and Google.

Pichai also highlighted the growth of  YouTube's subscription business. The company now has more than 20 million subscribers to YouTube Premium and YouTube Music, and 2 million subscribers to YouTube TV. Overall, YouTube's non-advertising revenue, which includes subscriptions and commerce, amounts to $3 billion.

The new figures come as Google faces an antitrust investigation.
