Delhi Govt's Appeal: Promote Class 10 & 12 Student
The Delhi Government on Tuesday urged the Centre to promote class 10 and class 12 students of the Central Board Of Secondary Education (CBSE) without holding the pending board examinations and based on the internal marks.

In a joint meeting with other state education ministers called by the HRD Ministry, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said it is not feasible now to conduct the remaining exams of CBSE class 10 and Class 12 students.

"It will not be possible to conduct the remaining exams of CBSE 10th and 12th so that children should be passed on the basis of internal exams as it was done for the students of 9th and 11th," Mr Sisodia said in a tweet.

CBSE Board exams were underway when the coronavirus pandemic stuck the country, following which exams were postponed until after lockdown period. Later in April, the Board had decided to conduct only the important pending exams.

The pending exams include both optional subjects and main academic subjects.

Sisodia also said the entire syllabus of JEE, NEET and other entrance examinations for higher education institutions should be reduced by at least 30% and the exams should be taken based on the reduced syllabus.
