Lockdown Diaries: Bollywood Celebs’ Share Their Ex

On one hand, when the world has come to a standstill due to the Coronavirus, on the other Bollywood is also struggling with its emptiness, with film sets, closed cinema houses and film stars sitting at home.

The precautionary lockdown has been extended till May 3 by the Prime Minister citing the rising number of cases.

While many Bollywood fans were very excited around the world, anticipating the release of new movies, a few of them being Kabir Khan’s sports drama ‘83’, and Rohit Shetty’s ‘Suryavanshi’, everything came to a halt as circumstances changed due to the spread of coronavirus.

Actress Kangana Ranaut was shooting for her new film 'Thalaivi' in Tamil Nadu at the start of the lockdown. "I was going to stay there for 45 days but then we were not allowed to mobilize for the shoot. We stopped shooting and I returned to Mumbai," she told a news magazine.

Actress Deepika Padukone said she considers herself lucky as she was about to leave for Sri Lanka to shoot her new film a few days before the lockdown began.

Filmmaker Karan Johar was to shoot for his upcoming period drama film Takht this April. His team also started the work of set manufacturing in Europe.

Karan Johar has two films ready for release and seven other films are in production. He took to his social media and announced that all administrative and production work at his company Dharma Productions has been suspended until further notice. 

Celebrities have come to social media to give a glimpse of how they are spending their time at their homes.

On the other hand, a few celebrities are learning new skills. As seen on his social media, Hrithik Roshan has started learning Piano and Alia Bhatt is trying her hand at baking.

Many of them are seen putting up their workout videos to inspire people to stay home and stay fit.

Some actors have taken the initiative to explain the importance of social distancing to their fans on social media.

Kartik Aryan, the actor of 'Pyaar Ka Panchnama', has appealed to people to stay in homes through a funny video. It has been more than 10 million views on Instagram.

Given the speculation that the lockdown will be extended, producers are already anticipating major changes to the way Bollywood will operate.

Trade experts have suggested that the films whose release has been postponed, may have to suffer losses whenever they are released on screen.

Both Bollywood stars and directors understand that their troubles are nothing in the face of the difficulties of the poor.
