OTT Players Launch Separate Platforms For Kids
The trend of children watching digital videos has opened up a new avenue of income for OTT platforms in the country. Looking at the growing number of kids, OTT platforms are launching separate platforms for them. 

The market for digital videos is not confined to adults. There has been a year-on-year increase in the market for production of digital videos meant for children. This is why, now OTT players are also launching separate platforms for kids.


Recently, Viacom18 launched ‘Voot Kids’, a platform for children, which has 20,000 videos, e-books, stories and quizzes. The subscription of ‘Voot Kids’ is available for Rs 99 per month and Rs 799 per year.

Before this, the biggest entertainment company ‘Hungama’ had launched a platform for kids named ‘Hungama Kids’, where kids can watch videos on paying Rs 30 per month or Rs 299 per year.

According to a 2019 PricewaterhouseCoopers report, in 2018, more than 40% of new internet users in the world were children. Around 1,70,ooo kids get online daily.
