Delhi Temperature Drops to 2.4 Celsius
Entire north India, along with the national capital Delhi, is presently in the grip of severe cold. 

The cold has shattered all previous records in Delhi, with Saturday's early morning temperature dropping to 1.7 degrees Celsius.


According to the Met Office, this is Delhi’s coldest December in 120 years. Before this, the month of December with such cold conditions was in the year 1901.For the time being, there seems to be no respite from the cold. According to the Met Office, similar cold conditions will prevail in Delhi for a few more days.

Cold has intensified in the plains due to continuous snowfall in the hilly regions of the country. While schools have been closed due to the cold in some places, in other areas, schools have changed their timings.

Meanwhile, with an increase in cold, pollution levels have also risen steadily in Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). On Saturday as well, the Air Quality Index in Delhi-NCR was above 350.

In Delhi’s Lodhi Road area, in the morning, PM2.5 was 348 and PM10 was 237. In Chandni Chowk, PM2.5 was 492 and PM10 was 440. Near Delhi airport, PM2.5 was 336 and PM10 was 240. In Noida, PM2.5 was 385 and PM10 was 280.
