'Maha' Cyclone To Make Landfall In Gujarat & Mahar
Cyclonic storm ‘Maha’, which originated over the Arabian Sea, is likely to cause havoc in many parts of the country on November 6-7. The meteorological office has appealed to fisherfolk to stay away from the sea in view of ‘Maha’ storm.

Continuous rains may have stopped but unseasonal rainfall is still on in some areas of the country. According to the Indian Meteorological Office, cyclonic storm ‘Maha’, which originated in the Arabian Sea, could head towards the southern parts of Gujarat on Tuesday.


The meteorological office has issued an alert for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on November 6-7. According to the meteorological office, ‘Maha’ is expected to make landfall in Daman and Diu and Porbandar late on Wednesday night and keeping this in mind, fisherfolk have been asked to stay away from the sea.

There were 12,600 vessels in Gujarat and its nearby seas, out of which 12,000 vessels have returned. As a precautionary measure, 15 teams of the NDRF have been deployed and 15 more teams are being called over.
