Severe Cyclonic Storm Heads For Gujarat

Cyclonic storm ‘Maha’, which originated over the Arabian Sea, is heading for landfall in Gujarat on Wednesday. 

The meteorological office has issued an alert for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli on November 6-7. According to the met department office, ‘Maha’ is expected to make landfall in Daman and Diu and Porbandar late on Wednesday and fishermen have been asked to stay away from the sea.

There were 12,600 vessels in Gujarat and its nearby seas, out of which 12,000 vessels have returned. As a precautionary measure, 15 teams of the NDRF have been deployed and 15 more teams are being sent in.
