Coronavirus: Death Toll Crosses 3,800 Mark, Over 73,500 Active Cases

As of 8 am on 24 May, the total number of infected patients in the country has increased to 1,31,868 and the tally for active patients is now 73,560. While 3,867 people have lost their lives so far, 54,440 have also recovered.

• Maharashtra has the highest number of 1,577 deaths in the country, where 47,190 cases have been reported while 13,404 people have recovered.
• In Gujarat, so far 829 people have lost their lives due to corona while 6,169 have been discharged and the total number of patients here i s 13,664.
• Madhya Pradesh has 281 deaths while the total number of patients here is 6,371 and 3,267 patients have been discharged.
• In West Bengal, 269 people have lost their lives due to corona, while 1,281 have been discharged and the total number of patients here is 3,459.
• 231 people have died in Delhi, a total of 12,910 cases have been reported and 6,267 patients have been cured.
• In Rajasthan, 160 people have lost their lives so far, while 3,786 have been cured, a total of 6,742 people are infected with corona here.
• In Uttar Pradesh, 155 people have died, a total of 6,017 cases have been reported and 3,406 patients have been cured.
• So far, 103 people have lost their lives in Tamil Nadu while 7,491 have been cured, with a total of 15,512 people infected with corona. The patients have recovered.
• There have been 56 deaths in Andhra Pradesh, a total of 2,757 cases have been reported while 1,809 people have also recovered.
• In Telangana, 49 people have lost their lives so far while 1,065 have been cured, a total of 1,813 people are infected with corona here.
• 42 people have died in Karnataka, a total of 1,959 cases have been reported here and 608 people have been cured.
• There have been 39 deaths in Punjab, while 1,870 people have recovered, while the total number of patients here is 2,045.
• In Jammu and Kashmir, 21 people have lost their lives so far while 774 have been cured, a total of 1,569 people are infected with Corona here.
• There have been 16 deaths in Haryana, while 750 people have recovered, while the total number of patients here is 1,131. \
• In Bihar, 11 people have lost their lives so far while 653 have been cured, a total of 2,380 people are infected with corona here.
• In Odisha, 7 people have lost their lives so far while 497 have been cured, a total of 1,269 people are infected with corona here.

There have been four deaths in Kerala, Jharkhand and Assam, 795 in Kerala, 350 in Jharkhand and 329 patients in Assam have been infected with Corona, while Kerala has so far 515, Jharkhand 141 and Assam has 55 patients who have been discharged.

There have been three deaths in Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh. 225 patients in Chandigarh and 185 in Himachal Pradesh, 179 in Chandigarh and 61 in Himachal Pradesh.

Apart from this, two people have died due to coronavirus in Uttarakhand and one in Meghalaya. Coronavirus has so far engulfed 33 states across the country and the number of infected patients is registering a rapid increase.
