The number of patients infected with the coronavirus in the country has crossed 42,000. Among them, 1,373 patients have died. Along with the growing coronavirus contagion in the country, the mortality rate of its patients is also increasing.

At present, the mortality rate of coronavirus patients across the country has reached 4.6% whereas this rate was 2.8% at the end of March.


In terms of state-wise data, the mortality rate of patients infected with this virus is the highest in Madhya Pradesh, whereas Chhattisgarh is on top in cases of recovery and not a single patient has expired here.

In Madhya Pradesh, the mortality rate is 5.3% and the recovery rate is 21%.

In Gujarat, this rate is 5.1% whereas the recovery rate is 17.7%.

In Maharashtra, the mortality rate is 4.2% and the recovery rate is 16.2%.

In Karnataka, this rate is 4.1% but the recovery rate is 45%.

In West Bengal, the mortality rate is 3.5% and the recovery rate is 16.3%.

In both Kerala and Bihar, the mortality rate is 0.8%. In Kerala, the recovery rate is 80% and in Bihar it is 22%.

In Haryana, the mortality rate is 1.1% whereas the recovery rate is 63%.

In Tamil Nadu, the mortality rate is 1% but the recovery rate is 48%.

In Jammu and Kashmir, the mortality rate is 1.2% and the recovery rate is 38.1%.

In Delhi, the mortality rate is 1.5% whereas the recovery rate is 30%.

In Uttar Pradesh, the mortality rate is 1.7% whereas the recovery rate is 28.9%.

Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, the mortality rate is 2.1% and the recovery rate is 28.9%.

In Rajasthan, the mortality rate is 2.3% and the recovery rate is 40%.

In Punjab, the mortality rate is 2.5% and the recovery rate is 14%.

In Telangana, the mortality rate is 2.6% and the recovery rate is 43%.

In Jharkhand, the mortality rate is 2.6% and the recovery rate is 19.1%.

According to experts, the appraisal of any country should be done on the basis of mortality and recovery rates from among the total number of cases and this formula applies to the states of a country as well.
