COVID-19: Record 465 deaths and Around 16,000 Case

In the last 24 hours, a record of 465 people died due to the novel coronavirus while around 16,000 new patients have been found. According to the latest data of the Ministry of Health, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in the country has increased to 4,56,183, while 14,476 people have died so far. At the same time, the number of active patients has increased to 1,83,22.

The situation is deteriorating rapidly in the capital Delhi where the number of patients has reached above 66,000. In collaboration with the Central Government and Delhi Government, the capacity of the COVID Care Center is being increased and doctors and nurses of the Paramilitary are being deployed. The five states of the country having the highest number of coronavirus patients include Maharashtra and Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, coronavirus testing is being extended throughout the country. According to the latest ICMR data, in the last 24 hours, 2,15,195 people were tested, while the total testing figure has reached above 73 lakh. It is being said that if the testing capacity had already been increased, the infection could be controlled to some extent.
