Delhi: Five Days Institutional Quarantine For All

Delhi Lt. Governor Anil Baijal has made a significant rule change for COVID-19 patients. According to the new rule, now all coronavirus patients will be kept in institutional quarantine for five days. The Aam Aadmi Party called it an arbitrary decision and said that it will increase difficulties.

Aam Aadmi Party MLA Raghav Chadha said, 'People of my assembly constituency have said that they will not get tested. They are afraid that they will be put in quarantine centres if the report comes positive?'

Raghav Chadha also asked that in the current situation, '15,000 beds will be required in Delhi by June 30, but after LG's decision, by June 30, 90,000 beds will be required in hospitals. Where do we get 90,000 beds?'

The Delhi government has said that since May 8, 5,000 COVID-19 patients have been cured living in their homes. 8,500 patients with no symptoms and mild symptoms are still in home isolation which has reduced the burden on Delhi's hospitals.

The number of coronavirus patients in Delhi has crossed 53,000 and the health structure has severely crumbled. The Delhi government alleges that LG Anil Baijal's decree will destroy the state's health structure.
