Fluoride Contamination Plagues Country's Water
In the 21st century, India dreams of becoming an economic superpower but paradoxically, is unable to provide clean drinking water to its crores of residents.

The population in various states of the country is cursed to drink water contaminated with fluoride and lead a handicapped life.

The central government makes tall promises of improving the living standard of the country’s residents but the truth is that crores of people do not even have access to clean drinking water.

From Gujarat to Rajasthan and from Tamilnadu to West Bengal, thousands of villages are forced to drink water contaminated with fluoride and become handicapped.

At least one person per family has become handicapped in Jharkhand’s Chukru village from drinking water contaminated with fluoride.

Jharkhand has a BJP government led by CM Raghubar Das, who is claiming a return to power by talking about various schemes. But the fact is that he could not even provide clean drinking water to Palamu’s Chukru village. Like Chukru, thousands of villages in Jharkhand are doomed to drink water contaminated with fluoride.

Meanwhile, fluoride is above permissible levels in 8,188 villages of 11 districts in Bihar.

According to the Central Ground Water Board, Jharkhand, Bihar, Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Tamilnadu, West Bengal and Uttar Pradesh are among those states where the amount of fluoride in one litre of drinking water is more than 1.5 milligrams. Such water is so poisonous that the bones of hands and legs become deformed from drinking it.
