Amid a spike in coronavirus cases, the Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that 10,000 beds under the Delhi government will be kept for residents only. He said the decision had been taken in consultation with an expert medical panel which estimated that by June end the city would need 15,000 beds.

The city has registered well over 27,500 cases so far.

Hospitals under the central government in the city were free to admit patients from out of state, Kejriwal added.
