The number of coronavirus patients in the country has reached almost 60,000. According to the Health Ministry, 3,320 new cases have been found in the last 24 hours and 95 people have died.

After new data came to light, the number of patients in the country stands at 59,662, whereas there have been 1,981 deaths.

Over 19,000 coronavirus patients have been found in Maharashtra, which is the state worst-affected by the pandemic.

Also, 7,402 in Gujarat, 6,318 in Delhi and 6,009 patients have been found in Tamil Nadu.

Meanwhile, the south Indian state of Kerala has nearly defeated the coronavirus.

The total number of coronavirus patients in the state was 503, out of which 484 patients have been discharged from the hospital and four patients have died. At present, there are only 15 active patients in the state.

Amid this, the exodus of migrant labourers from metropolitan cities continues.

Several labourers belonging to Jharkhand had started out for their homes on foot from Chennai but the state police stopped them at night.

When the labourers protested, the Chennai Police resorted to baton charge. After this, they were made to board a bus and taken to a temporary shelter.

Meanwhile, labourers at a quarantine centre in Bihar’s Vaishali district have held a protest. They allege that they are not getting proper food and water in the quarantine centre.

Vaishali District Magistrate Udita Singh has said that an inquiry into the matter is underway.

Dealing with the coronavirus has become more challenging in the entire world, along with India.

According to the Johns Hopkins University, over 40 lakh people across the world have been hit by the coronavirus and more than 2.76 lakh people have died from this disease so far.
