According to the Health Ministry, 3,390 new coronavirus patients have been found in the country in the last 24 hours and 103 people have died. After this spike, the total number of patients in the country has reached 56,342 and the death toll stands at 1,886.

In Maharashtra, 17,974 people have been hit by the coronavirus so far whereas in Gujarat, the infection has crossed the 7,000 mark.

The number of patients has exceeded 3,000 in Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

Uttar Pradesh’s Noida is among the areas worst-affected by the coronavirus but on Thursday night, social distancing went for a toss in Sector-88 here.

People in large numbers were seen buying vegetables and fruits here. According to Market Committee Secretary Santosh, several factories have re-opened in Noida because of which crowds have increased.

The committee has said that now passes will be issued to people going to the vegetable market and only 100-150 people will be allowed entry.

Meanwhile, 23 labourers have run away from a quarantine centre in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada.

According to Dantewada Superintendent of Police Abhishek Pallav, the labourers had been kept at a boys’ hostel in Aranpur but they ran away from there.

Worryingly, coronavirus patients are being found at a very fast pace in the third phase of the lockdown.

Around 14,000 new coronavirus patients have been found across the country in the past four days.
