India COVID-19 Cases Mount To 11,439, Death Toll 3
There continues to be a big spike in the number of coronavirus patients in the country.

According to the latest data, while the coronavirus has taken 11,439 people in its grip, 377 people have succumbed to the disease across the country so far.


According to the Health Ministry, while 9,756 active patients are being treated in various hospitals across the country, 1,306 people have recovered from the coronavirus as well.

For the past few days, with over 1,000 patients being found per day, the coronavirus crisis in the country has deepened. 

In capital Delhi, with new patients being found, the number of areas that have been sealed has increased to 55.

According to the Delhi government, eight new areas were sealed in Delhi on Tuesday, among which are south-east Delhi’s Khirki Extension, Chirag Dilli and Sangam Vihar.

Apart from this, central Delhi’s Bara Hindu Rao, south-west Delhi’s Janakpuri, north-east Delhi’s Shastri Park and H-Block of Jahangirpuri have also been sealed.

Amid this, two women doctors of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital have tested positive for the coronavirus. While the treatment of both women doctors has started, 30 staff members of the hospital have been quarantined.

Coronavirus patients are being treated at Delhi’s Lok Nayak Hospital as well but a woman doctor has been assaulted in the Surgical Ward here on Tuesday. When a doctor stepped forward to save his colleague, he too had to face misbehaviour.

The Resident Doctors’ Association has said that doctors had to hide to save themselves and guards had to be called.

Apart from Delhi, the staff of a hospital in Mumbai has also contracted the coronavirus. At this hospital, 35 staff members have been infected with the coronavirus so far. All of them are being treated at the same hospital.
