India Surpasses Pakistan In Coronavirus Cases
India surpasses Pakistan in terms of the number of infected COVID-19 cases, suggests data from the Johns Hopkins University. The total number of patients in Pakistan has been recorded at 2,450 whereas, in India, 2567 people are infected.
According to the latest data from the Health Ministry, the total number of active patients in the country has reached 2,088 and the death toll stands at 56.
Meanwhile, 156 people have been discharged from the hospital after treatment. However, according to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, India has surpassed Pakistan in the number of coronavirus patients. In Pakistan, the total number of coronavirus patients has been recorded as 2,450, while in India, this figure has reached 2,567. One reason for this spike in the number of patients is people from the Tablighi Jamaat being found infected with this contagion in large numbers. Coronavirus patients with connections to the Tablighi Jamaat have been found in more or less all states of the country. Attributing sources in the UP government, the news agency ANI has written that 172 new coronavirus patients were found in the state on Friday. Out of them, 42 were connected to the Tablighi Jamaat. So far, 161 coronavirus patients have also been identified in Andhra Pradesh. Among these, 140 are connected to the Tablighi Jamaat and they had taken part in a programme at the headquarters of the Jamaat in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area. Amid this, one patient in the state has completely recovered from the coronavirus and been discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, the total number of patients in Rajasthan has reached 154. The Health Department of the state said that 14 new patients were found on Friday and they were part of the Tablighi Jamaat. Among them, seven are from Tonk district, six hail from Maharashtra and one belongs to Jharkhand. The highest number of patients (26) had been found in Rajasthan’s Bhilwara district, where the government had to impose a curfew What is comforting is that 17 out of these 26 patients have recovered completely and no new case has been reported in the last three days.
