Mumbai's Dharavi Reports Second Coronavirus Case, One Succumbs
The second case of the coronavirus infection has been reported in Mumbai’s Dharavi. The patient is a BMC employee and was engaged in sanitisation work in Dharavi. The 52-year-old BMC worker’s home is in Mumbai’s Worli area.
Earlier, another coronavirus patient had been confirmed in Dharavi, who had died while undergoing treatment at a hospital. According to reports, the patient did not have any travel history.
Dharavi is among the slums with the highest population in Asia. Around 10 lakh people subsist in this slum spread over two kilometres. So far, over 330 coronavirus patients have been confirmed in Maharashtra, out of which 13 people have died and 42 patients have been discharged. Meanwhile, more than 1950 cases of this viral infection have come to light across the country. Among these, 50 patients have died and 150 have gone back home after recovery.
