North-East: Nagaland Registers First COVID-19 Case
The coronavirus epidemic has now spread to the North-Eastern states as well. The first case of the coronavirus has come to light in Nagaland.

The patient had reached Dimapur from Kolkata on March 24.


According to the Nagaland government, this person, found to be coronavirus positive in a test, was put under quarantine on arriving in Dimapur.

After this, the Marwaripatti and Ghorapatti areas in Dimapur have been completely sealed.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, a minister in the Assam government, has said that the patient is undergoing treatment at the Medical College in Guwahati. 

The Nagaland government has conducted thermal screening of 793 people in 11 districts so far. The state’s problems have multiplied after the first coronavirus patient was found because it does not have adequate medical facilities.

The maximum number of patients (30) in the North-East has been found in Assam. Among them, most are undergoing treatment at the Medical College in Guwahati. 

Apart from this, two patients each have been found in Manipur and Tripura. One coronavirus patient has been confirmed in Arunachal Pradesh as well.
