On The Rise: State-Wise Coronavirus Cases In India
India witnessed the sharpest spike so far in the number of coronavirus patients in the last 24 hours.

According to the latest data from the Health Ministry, 1,035 new patients were found and 40 people have succumbed to the ailment in the past 24 hours. The total number of coronavirus patients has reached 7,447.


The total number of active patients in the country now stands at 6,565. Also, 642 people have recovered so far. The death toll in the country has now reached 239.

The highest number of deaths in the country (110) have taken place in Maharashtra, where 1,574 cases have come to light and 188 people have recovered.

In Madhya Pradesh, 33 deaths have taken place. The total number of patients here is 435.

In Gujarat, 19 people have died. Over here, a total of 308 cases have been registered and 31 people have been discharged.

In Delhi, 13 people have lost their lives due to coronavirus so far. The total number of patients here is 903 and 25 patients have recovered too.

In Punjab, while 11 people have lost their lives so far, five have recovered. The total number of coronavirus patients here is 132.

In Tamil Nadu, while 911 cases have been found, the death toll stands at eight and 44 patients have been discharged as well.

In Telangana, seven people have died. Over here, a total of 473 cases have been registered and 43 people have recovered.

In Karnataka, six people have lost their lives so far. Over here, while 31 people have recovered, 207 people are suffering from the coronavirus.

In Andhra Pradesh, six people have died. Over here, a total of 363 cases have been registered and seven people have recovered.

In West Bengal, five people have died. Over here, a total of 116 cases have been registered and 16 patients have been discharged as well.

There have been four deaths each in Uttar Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. In Uttar Pradesh, 431 cases and in Jammu and Kashmir, 207 cases have been registered.

There have been three deaths each in Rajasthan and Haryana. In Rajasthan, a total of 553 people and in Haryana, 177 people are suffering from the coronavirus.

In Kerala, there have been two deaths. Over here, a total of 364 cases have been registered and 83 patients have been discharged as well.

Apart from this, there has been one death each in Bihar, Odisha, Himachal Pradesh and Jharkhand due to the coronavirus.

The coronavirus has taken 31 states across the country in its grip so far and a rapid increase is being registered in the number of patients.
