Pune Start-Up Readies Affordable Ventilators Amid
The coronavirus cases in the country are increasing rapidly and thousands of people have succumbed to this disease across the world.

However, among these, several people have died because of lack of adequate medical facilities, among which the most important are ventilators.

India also needs 10,000 ventilators on an immediate basis to fight the coronavirus epidemic.

Amid this, engineers of a start-up named Nocca Robotics Private Limited, based in Maharashtra’s Pune, are developing special portable ventilators for coronavirus patients.

Nikhil Kurele, a co-founder of this start-up, said that their aim is to develop low-cost portable ventilators and they will have the same number of features as are needed to save the lives of COVID-19 patients especially.

Kurele also said that the cost of these portable ventilators being developed by the company will be less than Rs 50,000.

In India too, there is a requirement of more than 50,000 ventilators for the treatment of patients. So far, the government has placed orders for the supply of more than 30,000 ventilators with several large companies.

Among the engineers of Nocca Robotics are students of mechanical, electronic and aerospace engineering. Nocca Robotics is a two-year-old start-up and last year, its turnover was Rs 27 lakh.
