Surpassing China, India COVID-19 Cases Near 86,000
Just one day away from the end of Lockdown 3.0, the number of coronavirus cases has inched close to 86,000.
India COVID-19 cases have mounted to 85,940, while the death toll has reached 2,752, according to the Saturday morning Health Ministry bulletin.
In the last 24 hours, about 4,000 new cases and 103 deaths have been reported in the country. With close to 86,000 cases, India surpasses China’s count of 82,941 cases. India now is ranked 11th in the world in terms of COVID-19 cases while China is at 13th, according to Johns Hopkins University. The country is now behind Iran where over 116,000 cases have been reported so far. The virus began spreading from China in December last year, but now the pace of infections in the country has almost stopped. Watch the video story here:
