11 Indians Die Of COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia, No Eva
Across the world, 1 lakh 91 thousand people have died due to the coronavirus. Among them are Indians stranded in several countries who have succumbed to the disease.

According to the Embassy of India in Saudi Arabia, 11 Indian citizens had died due to the coronavirus in Saudi Arabia till April 22. Among them, four in Medina, three in Mecca, two in Jeddah and one death took place in Dammam.

Indian nationals stranded abroad in large numbers due to the lockdown have appealed to the Modi government to bring them back home but the Embassy of India in Saudi Arabia has denied any such possibility.

The Embassy said that there is no plan for the evacuation of people stuck in Saudi Arabia due to the lockdown.

With this statement of the Embassy, the hopes of lakhs of Indians living in Gulf countries have been dashed; they have been finding it difficult to stay on abroad during the lockdown.

Many such Indian nationals are still pleading for their return to India in several videos posted on social media.

Included among them, apart from Saudi Arabia, are Indians from nations such as the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Malaysia.

However, several countries are engaged on a war footing in rescuing their citizens stuck abroad.

Britain has announced that special aircraft will be sent from April 28 to bring back 3,600 British citizens stranded in India.

According to Lord Tariq Ahmad, Britain’s Minister for South Asian Affairs, Britain has rescued 6,500 people from India so far. In the next few weeks, around 7,000 more people will be extricated.
