2 Students Dead In California School Shooting, Gun
A student on Thursday opened fire at Sangus High School in Santa Clarita, California, killing two of his classmates and wounding three others before turning the gun on himself on his 16th birthday.

The shooting began around 7.30 a.m. local time and the suspect took just 16 seconds to pull out the weapon from his backpack, shoot five people and then himself in the head.

The suspected gunman is hospitalised in critical condition who used the last bullet from a 0.45-caliber pistol on himself, authorities said. However, detectives offered no immediate motive between the subject and the victims other than to say that they were all students at the high school together.

Students scrambled for safety amid the chaos, and frantic parents urgently sought to reunite with their children.

The fatalities include a 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy. Two girls, ages 14 and 15, and a 14-year-old boy remain hospitalized, officials said.

This is the latest deadly school shooting to hit the US.
